no words, just positive dancing
i went to ashton court again on sunday. the big hill seemed just as hard to conquer, but my reward at the top was to see a angry man get arrested by the fuzz. we sat around for a bit, then made our way to see glenn tillbrook. yes, him who used to be in squeeze. here is a picture of him, for the benefit of sarah and kate...
then we wondered over to the main stage to catch the end of the stranglers. i had some overpriced, mediocre and lukewarm tempura whilst shaun entertained us with a dance.
last night i cooked up a storm in the kitchen, presenting my housemates with the best food they have ever eaten ever. i then rushed to john's house, because for the next two days, he is helping me continue my social cyclone project. a spanner in the works! i was supposed to be playing badminton with sarah tomorrow, but she has obviously got jealous of my current popular lifestyle as the man about town, and has decided to compete with me. to this end, she is going out tonight, and, from what she says, won't be going home until sunday. this is reckless, as she is taking on a champion. she is attempting a crazy schedule of other people's work parties, and photography of her brother's wedding. she cannot win.
we found the fleece and firkin full of people, which indicated to me that we had arrived on the correct night to see kathryn williams. i would say that this was my favourite gig of the year so far; i just totally love her voice, her look, and her music. this time she played quite a few covers, to reflect the content her last record. i got so excited i bought a t-shirt. from now on i am definitely only going to listen to kathryn williams.

Oh no, you have made it into a contest and now I want to win. Do we have rules? Does being social mean you are spending the night away from your house? Does entertaining in your house count?
Glenn Tilbrook rules
Glenn's bass player rules
glenn's web site does not rule. tom
You love it. You wish you could design sites like that. Especially the flower style navigation.
rules for the social marathon:
1) you must leave you house for a minimum of one hour per night, in order to attend any form of social event.
2) social means that another person must be present.
3) entertaining at home does count, so long as you have at least three units of alcohol, or stay up 90 minutes past your regular bedtime. drinking alone or lying awake in bed does not count.
4) the winner is the person who is social for the most consecutive nights.
5) the contest is open to anyone over the age of 18.
6) in the event of a tie, the winner will be the player who has attended the greatest number of different venues.
7) any queries regarding these rules can be referred to the game referee (paul groom).
I think I may enter this competition as my preparations for departure involve visiting everyone i've ever known and having as many farewell parties as humanly possible in a very short space of time. I think i'm in with a chance.
I'm really tired after my first night of the contest. I don't think I have the power.
